Professional Experience

My background spans museum operations, volunteer leadership, public history, archaeology, interpretation, collections, exhibit work, and community engagement. Across these roles, the common thread is helping people connect with objects, stories, places, and one another through clearer systems, stronger programs, and more accessible public experiences.

2024 — Present

The Museum of Flight
Volunteer Program Manager

At The Museum of Flight, I lead volunteer program operations for a large and active museum volunteer community whose service supports public engagement across the institution. My work focuses on building clearer systems for onboarding, training, documentation, communication, recognition, and volunteer participation so that volunteers and staff can work with greater confidence and purpose. I also supervise volunteer-program staff and collaborate across departments to strengthen the relationship between volunteers, visitors, and the Museum’s mission. This role reflects the core of my professional work: helping people, programs, and institutions operate with more clarity, care, and connection.

2021 — 2023

Denver Botanic Gardens
Learning Engagement Coordinator

At Denver Botanic Gardens, I supported learning, docent, tour, and public engagement programs across garden, gallery, and education settings. My work connected visitors with plants, art, ecology, and place through interpretation, tour operations, volunteer communication, and docent training. I also contributed to accessibility and inclusion efforts, helping make public programs more responsive to the needs of different audiences. This experience deepened my belief that cultural spaces are most powerful when they help people feel welcomed, curious, and connected to the world around them.

2020 — 2021

Dinosaur Ridge
Education Assistant & Collections Manager

At Dinosaur Ridge, I worked at the intersection of education, collections, paleontology, geology, and public learning. I supported educational programming while also managing collections documentation, accessioning, organization, and care for fossil and teaching materials. My work helped connect visitors and learners with the scientific and cultural significance of one of Colorado’s most important natural-history sites. This role reinforced my commitment to making complex evidence, whether fossils, landscapes, or archives, meaningful and accessible to the public.

2018 — 2020

The Colorado Railroad Museum
Education & Volunteer Coordinator

At the Colorado Railroad Museum, I coordinated education programs, volunteer participation, and public-history experiences rooted in the stories of railroads, labor, movement, and community. My work supported volunteer onboarding, scheduling, communication, and program documentation while also contributing to family programs, school experiences, exhibits, and living-history projects. I helped translate railroad history into accessible public experiences for visitors of different ages and backgrounds. This role strengthened my understanding of how museums preserve not only objects, but the human stories and systems behind them.

2018

Children's Museum of Denver
Museum Associate

At the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, I gained foundational experience in high-volume visitor engagement, informal education, and public-facing museum work. I supported children, caregivers, school groups, and families in a hands-on learning environment where curiosity, play, and safety were central to the visitor experience. This role taught me the importance of communication, patience, adaptability, and presence in public spaces. It also helped shape my belief that museums can be places where people first discover confidence, creativity, and connection.

2017

AmeriCorps VISTA | Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia
Volunteer Coordinator

As an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer Coordinator with Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia, I supported volunteer engagement, community partnerships, events, outreach, and capacity-building work. Living and working in Southwest Virginia gave me a deeper understanding of how place, service, and community identity shape people’s lives. My work helped connect volunteers and local partners with youth-serving programs that depended on trust, consistency, and shared purpose. This experience continues to influence how I think about service, equity, and the responsibility organizations have to the communities around them.

2015

Alpine Archaeological Consultants
Archaeological Field Technician

As an archaeological field technician with Alpine Archaeological Consultants, I conducted field survey, documentation, site recording, and cultural-resource work across varied landscapes and project areas. This work built my foundation in evidence-based research, material culture, field methods, and the careful documentation of human history. Archaeology taught me to pay attention to what remains, what is missing, and what stories can be recovered through objects, landscapes, and context. That training continues to shape how I approach museums, archives, public history, and interpretation.
